「美國弱勢族裔文學研究的反思」座談會 The Introspection of America’s Disadvantaged Social Ethnic Groups Literature Studies 28 Sep. 2019/文LA 7001/ NSYSU / Kaohsiung

台灣的美國弱勢族裔文學研究自1980年代中期開始蓬勃發展,在諸多學者戮力耕耘下,與文化研究、後殖民理論等批判論述匯流,一方面型塑了國內美國文學研究的多元文化取向,一方面帶動學界對文化屬性、他者、離散、創傷記憶等重要議題的跨領域、在地化思考。
  
  過去一年來,學者單德興、馮品佳相繼出書,分別將國內學界在華美文學、非美文學的研究成果彙編成冊;學者何文敬導論、翻譯的非裔美國學者杜博依斯影響深遠的著作《黑人的靈魂》、單德興的專書《跨界思維與在地實踐:亞美文學研究的多重視角》出版,充分展現弱勢族裔文學研究充沛的學術能量。
  
  座談會希望持續擴大這些著作出版的迴響,檢視、回顧弱勢族裔文學研究過往的發展,也推動研究新徑的探索。座談會邀集在亞裔美國文學、非裔美國文學、美洲原住民文學領域研究有成的學者進行討論,歡迎有興趣的學界好友們一同共襄盛舉。

Seminar: “The Introspection of America’s Disadvantaged Social Ethnic Groups Literature Studies”

        In Taiwan, the America’s disadvantaged social ethnic groups literature studies has been developing since the middle of 1980, under the endeavors of many scholars and researchers, they combine the studies with cultural research, postcolonialism theories and other critical reviews, not only they construct the multicultural orientation in Taiwan’s American literature studies, they also lead the academic communities to think and discuss about the important issues such as cultural attribution, the other, diaspora, traumatic memories etc.

        For the past year, scholars Shan, Te-hsing (單德興) and Feng, Pin-chia (馮品佳) published their research about Chinese American Literature, African American Literature in Taiwan, scholar Ho, Wen-jing (何文敬) wrote an introduction and translated the significant work of African American scholar William Edward Burghardt (aka "W. E. B." Du Bois)’s The Souls of Black Folk, and Shan, Te-hsing published跨界思維與在地實踐:亞美文學研究的多重視角》which both demonstrated the abundant academic energy toward disadvantaged social ethnic groups literature studies.

        This seminar hopes to enlarge the feedbacks of these publications, at the meantime, it surveys and reviews the past developments of disadvantaged social ethnic groups literature studies, also, we hope it pushes new discoveries of this genre. The seminar has invited many scholars to share and discuss their remarkable results in the fields of Asian American literature, African American literature, Native American literature, we also welcome anyone who is interested in this seminar.
